Will Seth Curry Help the 76ers Rebound at All?

Will Seth Curry Help the 76ers Rebound at All?

Seth Curry is, in fact, a pretty good 3-point shooter. Last year, he was one of the best 3-point shooters, shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from three-point range while his brother, Stephen Curry, shot 46.8 percent and 41.1 percent respectively. The key question here is whether he can maintain his form and contribute meaningfully to the team.

Great Addition for the Sixers

The addition of Seth Curry to the Philadelphia 76ers is a positive move. Embiid kick-outs to Curry will become a fixture, and Simmons is expected to play more in the low post, forcing help and providing Curry with more shooting opportunities. Curry's smarts, solid citizenship, and great teammate attributes are likely to make him an asset off the bench, contributing to 18 to 25 minutes of game time each game.

Are the 76ers Ready for the New Players?

The 76ers, with their hugely talented but prickly center Joel Embiid, have not meshed well so far. Maybe former coach and father-in-law, Doc Rivers, can succeed where others have failed. However, I genuinely believe Seth Curry will fit in well and be a significant contributor.

Seth Curry remains a good player, though not as good as his brother Stephen Curry. He is a solid 3-point shooter, shooting 45 percent last year on an average of 2.3 threes made per game out of 5 attempts per game. He averaged 12.4 points per game last season, which, considering he played around 24 minutes per game, isn’t that bad.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been lacking a proper sniper for quite some time, so it's good news for them that Seth Curry is likely to step up in that role. With Curry’s shooting ability and his proven track record, he should be able to provide valuable points off the bench and stabilize the team’s performance.
