Objective of Skyball

To score points by throwing a ball through a series of elevated targets. To navigate an obstacle course while playing. The team or player with the most points at the end of the match wins.

Basic Rules of Skyball

Teams

Each team consists of 4-6 players. Teams can be co-ed and must have a minimum of 2 players of each gender.

Field Layout

The playing field is an outdoor arena with various obstacles like ramps, tunnels, barriers, and elevated targets like hoops or platforms at different heights. Targets are worth different points depending on their height and difficulty (1 point for low targets, 3 points for mid-level targets, and 5 points for high targets).

Game Duration

A match lasts for 20 minutes (two halves of 10 minutes each) with a 2-minute break in between halves.

Gameplay

Players start from a designated zone and must navigate the obstacle course to reach the targets. Players can pass the ball to teammates or attempt to throw it directly through the targets. If a player is tagged by an opponent while holding the ball, they must pass it to a teammate before continuing. Players can only hold the ball for a maximum of 5 seconds before passing or attempting a throw.

Scoring

Points are awarded based on the target hit. Extra bonus points can be earned for hitting multiple targets in quick succession (2 extra points for hitting three targets in a row).

Fouls and Penalties

Physical contact is limited; excessive contact (pushing, shoving) results in a foul. After a foul, the opposing team is awarded a free throw from a designated spot.

Winning the Game

The team with the most points at the end of the match is declared the winner. In the event of a tie, a sudden-death overtime is played where the first team to score wins.

Additional Features

Spectator Interaction

Fans can vote on challenges or obstacles that teams must face in real-time, adding an element of unpredictability.
